Tony is an experienced ‘hands on’ Chartered Occupational Safety and Health Professional. He has over 16 years experience of working in a wide variety of industries, mainly on large construction and civil engineering projects but also in Steel Processing Plants, Workshops, Facilities Management, PFI, Water industries and Defence Projects both in the UK and internationally.
The majority of the roles have been as Health and Safety Manager or Health and Safety Advisor for major construction companies responsible as the principal contractor. Skills include ensuring that project management teams are fully compliant with Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies, procedures and legal requirements by strategising inspection and auditing schedules to ISO 14001/ISO 18001 standards.
Key competencies: Outsourced support of site development, ground work and house building clients. Management Systems Auditor/Lead Auditor, ISO18001 & 14001. Abrasive Wheels Trainer, New Road and Street Works Act Supervisor (NRSWA). Completion of detailed site visits and audits including environmental management objectives. Development of specific method statements and risk assessments including deep excavations plus contract safety packs. Inspection of scaffolding and related access equipment. Toolbox talks and training sessions for site staff and management.
