DGSA

The DGSA consultancy service will enable companies to ensure full compliance with the regulations and offers advice on all issues associated with the carriage of Dangerous Goods of all classes by road - we also offer ADR training. Your DGSA consultant will also be able to offer advice on other issues such as the reduction of environmental impact.

The fee for this service is based on a retaining fee for a 12 month contract (calculated on number of vehicles in the fleet) payable yearly or by monthly instalments and a per hour rate for work done, such as writing loading/unloading procedures.

Case study 1

A small haulage business with three vehicles in the fleet  undertakes occasional work transporting Dangerous Goods by road, would pay a retaining fee of £120 x 3 = £360 with 10 hours work done, such as writing loading/unloading procedures, investigating an accident and writing the report and preparing the company’s annual report. 10 hours @ £50 ph = £500 giving an overall total of £860 for a 12 month with a total peace of mind service from fully qualified DGSA consultants.

Case study 2

The driver of a vehicle is stopped at a road-side check whilst transporting 18 x 205 litre drums of Petrol, a regular work commitment to which 11 of the fleet (31 in total) are assigned.

The driver and the operator of the vehicle are found to be in breech of the regulations for non-compliance and face prosecution. The consultancy fee for enabling the company to be fully compliant  would be a retaining fee of £120 x 11= £1320 with 35 hours work done which would involve the full implementation of the regulatory requirements. 35 hours @ £50 ph = £1750 giving an overall total of £3070 for a 12 month contract and is considerably less than the possible fines imposed on the driver and the operator for non compliance.
