There is now a large choice of health and safety consultants, much larger than when our business was established some 40 years ago. Choosing the right health and safety consultants for your business can be difficult but there are certain things you would do well to consider if you want to end up with health and safety consultants and a health and safety policy which really suits your business.
If you send, carry or receive 'dangerous goods' by road, rail or waterway, above a certain load size, and it is your main activity, you must appoint a Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA) whether this is in house through training or through working with a health and safety consultancy such as ourselves.

Health & Safety Policy, a new example from HSE - Do you need to make changes, what can be learnt?
The HSE has recently published new guidance and issued an example health & safety policy statement which is downloadable from its website. The intention is to act as a guide to small businesses wishing to complete their health and safety policy statement from a simple template.
Research amongst AIM
finance directors exploring their attitudes towards outsourcing has found that health and safety policy work and related tasks such as COSHH risk assessment or DGSA are most likely to be outsourced. A poll of 100 finance directors of AIM listed companies found that although only a minority currently outsource to health and safety consultants many more are considering outsourcing key corporate functions - and the health and safety policy function is at the top of the list.
Why should I subscribe to a monthly service?
Health & Safety prosecutions are now more common - and more expensive - than ever before. Companies are facing alarming levels of litigation from unions, employees and third parties, as well as higher fines from regulatory bodies such as the Health & Safety Executive. Having a current and effective health & safety policy and COSHH risk assessments can protect you from these risks. We work with companies throughout the UK from Gloucestershire in the South West across the Home Counties to Kent in the South East and as far as Glasgow in the North and Exeter in the South West.
